The Pussycat Dolls are an American pop and dance group founded by choreographer Robin Antin. The troupe was initially based in Los Angeles and received a lot of attention from all over the country. With Interscope Records, Antin eventually turned it into a musical franchise with Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt and Carmit Bachar as the Pussycat Dolls.

That was when the group gained significant attention the world over. Pussycat dolls have diversified into reality television shows and product endorsements alongside the music.

The Pussycat Dolls tasted success in 2005 with their first album PCD which featured successful singles such as "Don't Cha," "Buttons," and "Stickwitu." Carmit Bachar left the group in March 2008 and the group continued as a quintet. Later in September, they released their second album, "Doll Domination."

Pussycat Dolls are known for their overtly sexual image and dance moves that are quite explicit. They have also been criticized for the emphasis placed on Nicole Scherzinger who sings all the lead vocals. The other singers left the group to pursue solo careers.

The new Pussycat Dolls will be Vanessa Curry, Kherington Payne, Jamie Lee Ruiz, and Rino Nakasone-Razalan. Together they will produce a new album and go on a world tour.
